Will Buxton, a familiar face from F1 TV and Netflix's Drive to Survive, has left his F1 post to become the lead commentator for INDYCAR on FOX. Known for his storytelling and insights, Buxton is sure to bring fresh energy to the series as he learns the ins and outs of INDYCAR. Plus, James Hinchcliffe, another F1TV favorite, will continue as a commentator, making this a familiar duo for F1 fans.
2. A New Team with a Familiar Name: PREMA Racing
F1 fans have been eagerly anticipating the arrival of an 11th team, but this season, INDYCAR is the one to get a new team. PREMA Racing, the Italian powerhouse renowned for dominating Formula series in Europe, is making its debut on the INDYCAR grid. This historic moment offers a chance to see how PREMA stacks up against seasoned teams as they bring their expertise and European flair to the series. And former F1 Driver Romain Grosjean is a reserve driver on this team.
3.An Existing Team with F1 Ties: Arrow McLaren
Let’s talk about Arrow McLaren, McLaren Racing's INDYCAR team. While it's a different division, Zak Brown is still the boss. They’ve got an exciting lineup, headlined by fan-favorite Pato O’Ward—who you might recognize from his FP1 test driver appearances with the McLaren F1 team
And during the Indy 500, they bring in NASCAR superstar Kyle Larson to attempt to pull off the legendary “double” by racing in a NASCAR event later the same day.
4. A Historic Indy 500 in the Making
The Indy 500 is one of motorsports’ Triple Crown races, alongside the Monaco Grand Prix and the 24 Hours of Le Mans. This year marks the 109th running of the world’s largest single-day sporting event. Josef Newgarden is chasing a historic three-peat victory, making this year’s Indy 500 a must-watch moment. And with no scheduling conflict with the Monaco GP, you can enjoy both! Several F1 drivers have also raced and won here including Emmerson Fittipaldi, Jacques Villeneuve, Jim Clark and Graham the only to have one the triple crown.
5.INDYCAR is now on FOX!
INDYCAR is now on FOX! 🏎️ For the first time ever, INDYCAR races will be nationally broadcast on FOX across the USA. They’re going all-in with top-tier productions and marketing—you can tell by watching their first promo featuring our friend Josef Newgarden!
